Atlanta Federal Center
Atlanta, GA: A 65,000-square-foot federal building greenroof, funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
The Sam Nunn Atlanta Federal Center is owned and operated by the General Services Administration. Part of the GSA’s mission is “to use expertise to provide innovative solutions…and by so doing, foster an effective, sustainable, and transparent government for the American people.” With this focus on sustainability and transparency, the primary goal of our project was to mitigate the GSA’s footprint while achieving massive energy savings—not only from the greenroof, but also from a new, efficient lighting system. The GSA was so pleased with our installation that we were awarded seven additional government building projects as a result.
